Welcome to the homepage of Oakland Summer Music. Our summer program now has three distinct tracks...

    • Oakland Summer Jazz
    • The Michael Morgan Summer Strings Program
    • Everything Guitar

We will all be together on the Roosevelt Middle School Campus. Everyone begins the day together in our outside amphitheater with morning singing, special performances, and announcements to warm us up. The rest of the day will be spent in large and small group ensembles in addition to our movement class in the jazz tradition. This summer we will have an enhanced track for high school musicians/mentors as well. We will enjoy meeting a multitude of renowned guest visitors who are experts at performing for and working with young musicians.

There is no cost for our OUSD students! If you would like to make a donation to summer music through EBAYC, follow this link. Donations EBAYC

In the weeks preceding camp it will be a good idea to be playing, practicing, and listening.  The more  you practise, the better the experience will be.  You also might want to check out some of the amazing jazz offerings on YouTube - search for Lee Morgan, Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, or any of your favorite jazz musicians.
