March 18, 2022 - COVID Update: Masks and At-Home COVID Testing
March 18, 2022
We are writing today with an update about our outdoor masking policy at OUSD schools and facilities. As you know, we have been requiring all students, staff, volunteers, and visitors to mask up inside and outside at all OUSD facilities this school year. We will be moving to optional outdoor masking for all students, staff, volunteers, and visitors starting on Monday, March 21.
We are continuing to work with our labor partners and other stakeholders to determine the future of our indoor masking requirement after April 15, 2022.
In the meantime, we are preparing for spring break and the last quarter of the school year. At-home test kits will be available for all students and staff by the last week of March for pickup at their school or office. Each kit includes two tests. Please use these during the break, on the Friday and Sunday before returning to school. We encourage families to sign up for another distribution of test kits from the federal government at covidtests.gov, particularly if you are planning to travel or gather in large groups over break.
As a reminder, if you have not yet submitted your student’s vaccination card, please email it to email@example.com. Thank you for all that you are doing to help keep our community safe and protected during the pandemic.
