Anne Frank Exhibit at Bret Harte Library

The Bret Harte Middle School Library will be hosting an international exhibition about the life of Anne Frank, sponsored by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the Dutch Consulate, March 5-15, 2018. Bret Harte students will have the opportunity to visit the 32-panel exhibition in English and Spanish with their Humanities classes, with tours led by student docents trained by Anne Frank House experts.

OUSD parent Evan Nichols recommended that the exhibit come to Bret Harte during his work at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam last summer. Bret Harte is one of a select number of schools in the country to host the traveling exhibition which tells the story of Anne Frank in the context of WWII, the Holocaust, and surrounding events. Students will have the opportunity to discuss human rights, intolerance, prejudice, exclusion, and moral courage within historical and current perspectives.

Our community tours are currently at full capacity. To sign up on the waitlist for one of two community tours on Wednesday, March 14, use this Google Form. You will be notified by email if a space opens up. Thank you.
