The School Site Council(SSC) operates in conjunction with Oakland Unified School District. Each school has its own SSC. It is the SSC where many important decisions regarding school finance, instructional materials, and other issues concerning the school are made. This group is also responsible for determining areas for school improvements. It creates a plan with specific time lines and approves the categorical budget for the school to accomplish these improvements. The Council evaluates the effectiveness of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and makes revisions whenever and wherever appropriate.
The SSC is comprised of the Principal, elected teachers, elected students, and elected parents and community members. All are welcome to attend and participate in the discussions.
