Edna Brewer Prospective Parent Tour

Description

Edna Brewer Prospective Parent Tour

The Edna Brewer Middle School Outreach Team welcomes all interested parents and guardians to come learn about our high-performing Oakland Public Middle School.

Each year we host several Morning Tours and one Evening Informational Event for prospective families. We encourage you to attend both, in order to get a sense of Edna Brewer’s dynamic, inclusive school culture, as well as our outstanding academic and elective programs.

The Morning Tours are led by Edna Brewer parent volunteers, who share their first hand knowledge about our school. After touring the campus and visiting classrooms, attendees meet key staff and a panel of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who present their perspectives on Edna Brewer and answer attendee questions.

The larger Evening Informational Event allows prospective parents/guardians and students to learn about Edna Brewer a bit more in-depth. Attendees hear from Principal Aubrey Layne and a panel of students from grades 6-8 who present their perspectives, insights and experiences. They can then attend three of several rotating “break-out” sessions held in various classrooms around the school, each focusing on a particular academic subject or elective. These sessions are held by Edna Brewer teachers, and include a short period for Q&A.
