Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC)
Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) is a school breakfast model in which students eat breakfast in their classrooms. Studies show that BIC increases attendance and decreases tardiness.
BIC at OUSD is served after the bell—after the official start of the school day—and no instructional time is loss since teachers often use this time to take attendance, collect homework, or make announcements.
