  • Interested in Learning More About Montera?

    Montera offers parent-led tours during the school day on select Fridays during the fall starting in November. Parent-led tours start with a short talk with Mr Avent and a couple of our student leaders in the Montera courtyard outside the school office, and last about 50 minutes concluding back in the courtyard to chat with Montera parents with any other questions you and your student might have.

  • Montera Musicians play National Anthem at A’s Game Sept 25th!

    At the Oakland A’s game on Mon, Sept. 25th, Montera musicians will perform the National Anthem with the OUSD Honor Band, a select group of 120 student musicians from OUSD middle schools and high schools. Go TOROS!

  • Dream Big: A Chromebook for Every Student

    Montera has launched a one-to-one technology initiative to ensure that all students have access to collaborative learning tools in their classrooms​. ​ In short, our goal is to have a Chromebook for every student in every classroom. To help fulfill this goal, please donate to our campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/montera-1-to-1-chromebooks and help spread the word. It's a big ask to fulfill a big need, but we can do it! Thank you!

  • Free Lunch (and Breakfast!) for ALL Montera Students!

    We are pleased to announce that OUSD is providing healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge to all students attending 73 of our OUSD school sites this year. Montera Middle School is included on this list.

  • Deloitte Day of Service

    Volunteers from Deloitte led students, parents, and community volunteers in a Day of Service on our last day of the school year. Projects included planting, weeding, mulching, power-washing, and painting. Thanks to all the hard workers, and thanks to Deloitte for an amazing last day of school at Montera Middle School!

  • Montera Music Program Celebrates 1st and 2nd Place Finishes at Six Flags Music Competition!

    On Saturday, May 6th, the Montera Advanced Band and Advanced Orchestra competed in the Music in the Parks Festival at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The Band scored a rating of “Excellent” and finished 2nd Place in their division. The Orchestra scored a rating of “Superior” and finished 1st Place in their division, and won the award for Best Overall Orchestra. Together, the Montera Band and Orchestra also received the Esprit de Corps Award, given to the one school (out of 15) that demonstrates exemplary behavior and citizenship throughout the festival weekend. Congratulations to the Montera Band and Orchestra on their outstanding performances and achievements! WAY TO GO, TOROS!!!

  • Montera OUSD Middle School League Champions!

    CONGRATULATIONS to the Montera Girls Basketball Team for winning 1st Place in the OUSD Middle School League. The Montera Girls Soccer Teams also won 1st and 2nd Place in the OUSD Middle School League. In addition, our Montera Cheer Team for won 1st Place in Cheer and also won 1st Place in Dance. GO TOROS!

  • Max Gochman: A Spelling Champion!

    Max Gochman finished in fourth place in the Alameda County Spelling Bee on March 24, 2017, following his first place finish during the OUSD Spelling Bee, which he's won two years straight. Congratulations, Max!
