Mack Celebrates Football State Championship with Downtown Rally, Parade

McClymonds High School and Oakland Unified School District will celebrated the first California state football championship in the history of the Oakland Athletic League with a downtown rally and parade on Friday, Jan. 6.

The McClymonds High Warriors (13-1) defeated La Jolla Country Day, of San Diego, 20-17, on Dec. 17, to win the Division 5A CIF Championship.

The day of celebration began at 12:30 p.m. with a rally outside City Hall. The team traveled in an open-topped, double-decker bus from Downtown, past seven West Oakland schools, to a school rally outside McClymonds High School.

The video captures the team as they ride past OUSD Central Offices at 1000 Broadway on their way from City Hall to Mack.
