4:30 PM - 6:00 PM OUSD Literacy Summit and Family Workshop
Welcome back, Hoover students, families, and staff! I am so excited to be supporting you all this year in my new role as principal. For the 2018-19 school year, we will be focusing on teaching students how to read, talk about and use evidence in writing from complex text.
Our students created a mural with Attitudinal Healing Connection for the 510 overpass on West street. When Caltrain said they could only paint it if Caltrains could take all their rights to their artwork, they worked with their state congresswoman and won their artwork rights and were able to paint the mural.
RJ Coordinator, Adimu, was able to get RJ up and going at Hoover. Here is a glimpse of the work that was started and is being held by our staff.
Third grade students visit the school garden with garden instructor, Ali Goldstein, to explore interactions among diverse species of plants and animals.
