6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Committee to Empower Excellence in Black Students' Education
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM OUSD Literacy Summit and Family Workshop
Welcome back, Hoover students, families, and staff! I am so excited to be supporting you all this year in my new role as principal. For the 2018-19 school year, we will be focusing on teaching students how to read, talk about and use evidence in writing from complex text.
Our students created a mural with Attitudinal Healing Connection for the 510 overpass on West street. When Caltrain said they could only paint it if Caltrains could take all their rights to their artwork, they worked with their state congresswoman and won their artwork rights and were able to paint the mural.
Please note: Disregard the Oct. 15th deadline. Families can sign up through the end of October.
This summer the Springboard Reading Program and BACR enrichement will be hosted by Hoover Elementary.
Dates: June 8 to July 2
Time: Mornings (flexible timing) on Zoom and independent, Parent workshops required on zoom
