Dual Enrollment
Welcome
The OUSD Dual Enrollment (DE) Program offers free Peralta College courses to interested 9th-12th grade students at participating OUSD High Schools. DE courses are conveniently located at the high school site during the school day* and taught by Peralta College instructors.
Upon passing the DE course, students earn college units (which can often be applied to college degrees), A-G high school credits**, and receive a GPA bump (increasing their overall GPA).
Dual Enrollment is an excellent way to save time, money, and try out college courses, explore majors, and career opportunities - completely for free - while still in high school!
*Occasionally courses might be virtual, after school or located at a different site.
** A-G eligibility depends by course. Check with your counselor or here.
How to Enroll
Students interested in enrolling in Dual Enrollment courses should find out which courses are offered and follow all required steps to enroll by the Peralta deadlines.
What do students say about OUSD's Dual Enrollment?
In high school, I took a total of 46 units at the Peralta Colleges. Now I am a first-year student at Cal, and have a lot of space in my schedule to take anything I want. I am exploring more interest, and adding a minor in Spanish.
I am a first-generation college student attending University of California, Merced. My Dual Enrollment Classes in high school helped me excel in my college career; I feel more confident, and I feel less of the "imposter syndrome."

I really liked the program, I've taken two years of Dual Enrollment courses with Peralta and both have been great.
I really appreciate this class...it helped my brain grow and learn in many ways I thought weren't possible. It also challenged me because this is not a hand-held class; you have to be ready to work for yourself.
