Health Education

Healthy Oakland Kids and Teens is Oakland Unified School District’s comprehensive Health Education Curriculum for grades K-12. The curriculum provides skills and knowledge to promote student mental health, physical health, social health and academic health. Students learn to see these as interconnected factors that build towards overall holistic health.

The Healthy Oakland Kids and Teens covers the six core content areas laid out in the Health Education Content Standards for California Public Schools and the California Health Education Framework. These six content areas are: Nutrition and Physical Activity, Growth and Development, Injury Prevention and Safety, Alcohol Tobacco and Drug use prevention, Mental Emotional and Social Health, and Personal and Community Health
