Eligibility Requirements for State Services
Any resident of Alameda County may apply for health coverage or SNAP/CalFresh programs through the Central Family Resource Center.
We serve all children and adults regardless of income level or immigration status (information regarding immigration status will be kept confidential). Our assistance includes help with:
Medi-Cal |
Kaiser Child Plan |
HealthPAC |
Covered California |
CalFresh |
Medi-Cal eligibility depends upon household size and income. You may still apply for Covered California if you do not meet eligibility requirements.
CalFresh eligibility also is dependent upon household size and income. It is available to U.S. citizens (except recipients of SSI/SSP benefits) and legal permanent residents of Alameda. (CalFresh provides families with an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card that can be used at most farmer's markets and grocery stores to purchase food.)
*Note: If you have a pending or active Medi-Cal case, you will need to apply for CalFresh through your county worker. We will not be able to enroll you. However, if you give us a call we can help you answer any questions you may have or connect you to your worker.
