Outreach and Meetings

OUSD Facilities has partnered with 360 Total Concept to administer the District’s Local Business Utilization Program. The District and Team 360 work in concert to host outreach events throughout the year to maximize the utilization of small, local businesses on OUSD’s Bond Program. These events include General Outreach, Matchmaking Events for Prime and Sub firms to connect, and technical assistance workshops to help small local firms navigate working on OUSD construction projects.

September 12, 2024 - Virtual Six Month Lookahead 

On September 12, 2024, Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) hosted its 2nd Annual Six (6) Month Project Look-Ahead Outreach event. Attendance included: District Leadership, local firms, and community members. During the meeting, OUSD presented an overview of the upcoming major projects, local business (LBU) requirements, steps to get prequalified, and ways to stay connected with the District. The District’s Local Business Consultants: 360 Total Concept, Inc. facilitated the meeting.

April 24, 2024 - Virtual Matchmaking Event - Coliseum College Prep Academy - Site Expansion Project 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On April 24, 2024 - The Oakland Unified School District Facilities Planning and Management Department, partnering with 360 Total Concept, hosted the first in-person Business Outreach Matchmaking Event for the Coliseum College Prep Academy (Design Build) Site Expansion Project. The overall objective of the outreach event was to update the community on the project, provide local and small local contractors with an opportunity to meet with potential GC and Architect teams and reach out to a diverse contractor pool to help meet the District’s local program requirements.

March 21, 2024 - SLBE Roundtable and Luncheon

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March 21, 2024, Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) hosted its 1st SLBE Roundtable and Luncheon Outreach event of the year. Over 30 participants were in attendance, including District Leadership, Facilities Staff, and small/local firms. In the meeting, OUSD Leadership set the tone for the event highlighting the importance of the local business community and its impact on and relevance to Oakland schools and the greater community. Attendees received an overview of upcoming projects and a review of the current local business policy and had an opportunity to share their experiences and recommendations for the Local Business Program with the District. The District’s Local Business Consultant, 360 Total Concept, Inc., facilitated the meeting.

Over 50 guests were in attendance, including District Leadership, local firms, and community members. In the meeting, OUSD presented an overview of the upcoming major projects, local business (LBU) requirements, steps to get prequalified, and ways to stay connected with the District. On October 18, 2023 - On behalf of the Oakland Unified School District’s Facilities Planning and Management Department, 360 Total Concept - OUSD’s Local Business Compliance Consultants attended the Supplier Diversity Day Mixer as a part of Construction Inclusion Week. The event was geared toward Small, Minority, Women, Disabled Veteran, Disability-Owned, and LGBT-owned firms/certified businesses. 360 Total Concept shared information on the District’s 50% Local Business Policy, invited firms to attend the upcoming 6 Month Project Look-Ahead outreach event, and compiled contact information from firms interested in additional information. Attendees walked away with resources to assist in their continued and/or future participation on OUSD projects.

August 31, 2023 - LBU Compliance Workshop - LBU Payment Verification Webinar

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On August 31, 2023 - 360 Total Concept, Oakland Unified School District's Local Business Compliance Consultants, hosted the second virtual Local Business Utilization (LBU) Payment Verification Portal of the year. Emphasizing the District’s commitment to equity and timely payments for the small and local subs, the workshop reviewed a step-by-step process on how firms will access the new portal system. During the workshop, contractors and consultants were invited to ask questions of the LBU team, and encouraged to continue their monthly verification process through the portal.

On December 10th, 2022, OUSD hosted a virtual outreach meeting to provide information on upcoming opportunities with the District. In the meeting, OUSD presented an overview of upcoming bids and projects, information regarding certification, the Local Business Utilization Policy as well as the Project Labor Agreement. June 22, 2021 - Measure Y Program Update & Contract Opportunities Meetings

On June 22, 2021, OUSD hosted a virtual outreach meeting to provide information on upcoming contract opportunities with the District. Over the next several years there will be multiple construction, professional service, and vendor contracts funded by Measure Y and deferred maintenance projects overseen by the Building & Grounds department. The District’s former Local Business Consultants: Luster National, Inc., and Lowe Consulting Group, Inc. facilitated the meeting.
