Custodial Services Managerial Goals
The Custodial Services managerial team is dedicated to establishing a uniformed method of service throughout the District that provides a clean and sanitary environment at all schools. Our objective is to assist site administrators with understanding core custodial functions while fostering a team-like quality work environment. In order to attain these goals, Custodial Services will:
- Meet regularly with administrators to assess custodial operations and overall work quality.
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections and establish site-specific custodial work schedules.
- Oversee and maintain accurate records of custodial personnel attendance, including approval and tracking of leave.
- Support administrators by providing guidance to custodial staff on assigned tasks and implementing appropriate performance improvement measures when concerns arise.
- Coordinate substitute staffing to ensure consistent coverage across sites.
- Provide ongoing training to custodial employees on technical cleaning practices and emerging industry standards.
- Foster collaborative relationships among administrators, custodians, families, visitors, and the Custodial Services leadership team to promote a positive working environment.
- Enforce Head, Lead, or Day Custodians to submit required weekly restroom inspection reports.
- Collaborate with HRSS to facilitate the placement and assignment of custodial personnel. - What is HRSS??
- Partner with Labor Management Employee Relations and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 257 to uphold contractual employee rights.
- Continually research and develop modern cleaning techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
