Elementary school day custodians will be responsible for the daily custodial needs of the site. Each elementary school will have one day custodian who will:

• Open the sites each morning
• Check the site daily for hazardous or unsafe items
• Complete restroom checks three (3) times a day
• Be available to assist the Principal and the site needs
• Remove graffiti as it appears
• Assist the Principals with night custodial work related issues
• The Day Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire square footage of the site.

Note: Day custodians mostly maintain the cleanliness of the site. Therefore, the amount of square footage that they clean combined with the amount that the night custodians clean equals the total amount of square footage of the site. Work schedules are prepared to accommodate this.

Elementary school night custodians are responsible for the daily custodial evening site needs. Night custodians will clean all classrooms on an A & B schedule.

• They are responsible for also cleaning and re-stocking restrooms
• They will clean the yard area (usually 30 minutes)
• Sweep and mop stairways and hallways
• Buff hallways and offices as needed
• Clean from a schedule prepared by the supervisor
• Assist the principal with custodial needs
• Remove graffiti
• Night custodians will clean approximately 20,000 sq ft of area

Middle school day custodians will be responsible for the daily custodial needs of the site. Each large middle school will have two day custodians. These custodians will:

• Open the sites each morning
• Check the site daily for hazardous or unsafe items
• Complete restroom checks three (3) times a day
• Clean heavy traffic restroom areas as needed
• Be available to assist the principal with the site needs

Remove graffiti as it appears

• Patrol the grounds, cleaning debris from the yard and graffiti from the walls.
• The day custodians will work from an administrator-approved schedule with leeway to deviate for emergency purposes.
• Day custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire square footage of the site.

Note: Day custodians mostly maintain the cleanliness of the site. Therefore, the amount of square footage that they clean combined with the amount that the night custodians clean equals the total amount of square footage of the work schedules that are prepared to accommodate this process.

Middle school night custodians are responsible for the site's evening needs:

• Night custodians will clean all classrooms on an A & B schedule

• Complete restroom checks three (3) times a day
• Clean heavy traffic restroom areas as needed
• Be available to assist the Principal and the site needs
• Remove graffiti as it appears
