All expanded learning program applications must be submitted through the district's enrollment platform, which you can access at ChooseOUSD.org.

Yes. Families whose children are already attending an after-school program and will remain at the same school must still submit a new application.

Please visit ChooseOUSD.org, select After-School Programs / Expanded Learning, and complete the application. This online application replaces all paper and Google forms that were previously completed directly with after-school providers.

No. Families must complete an online application for the program by visiting ChooseOUSD.org. After the application is reviewed, families may receive an offer from the program. A spot in the program is only confirmed once the family accepts the offer.

All families can begin applying in December 2025. New families who enroll in OUSD later in the year may apply on an ongoing basis once they are placed at a school.

Yes. Applications are accepted throughout the year, as long as space is available at the school site. If there is no space in a program, you will be waitlisted.

1. The school reviews the application.
2. If space is available, the family receives an offer.
3. The family must accept the offer to confirm their child’s spot.

If the offer is not accepted, the seat may be offered to another family.

Schools will follow up with families who have not responded, usually within two weeks. If there is no response, the seat may be offered to another student.

Schools work to make offers as applications come in. Families with higher needs are prioritized when space is available.

If families plan to stay at your current school, they are eligible only to apply for the expanded learning programs available there.

If families are in a transition grade or applying to change schools, they can apply to the expanded learning programs available at those schools.

No. You must individually select the student you are making the application for. There is not an option for families to mass apply for their collective students. Each student may have different application status (current, moving school, transitional grade etc) so an application needs to be made for their unique status.

EnrollWise is the OUSD enrollment system that allows you to apply to any OUSD school. This year, the system is also being used by the Expanded Learning Program Office (before and after-school programs) to enroll students into their programs. This replaces all* paper applications and streamlines the process for families. 

*Some additional/subcontractor programs may require a separate subsequent application.

Yes. EnrollWise is connected to the school enrollment system. When families enroll in school, they will be prompted to apply for after-school, before-school, or other Expanded Learning programs.

No. The application process is fully online. Families may print forms for their own records if they choose.

We hope that by centralizing the process, we can provide customer service support at the enrollment office, offer one-stop shopping, ensure a uniform experience, and, most importantly, improve the timelines for families to confirm their child’s acceptance into After-School Programs.

The goal is to place students without waitlists whenever possible. If a program is full, schools will continue making offers as space opens.

Congratulations! The next step is to log-in to your Enrollwise account at ChooseOUSD.org and accept the offer. This is a critical step. Your offer is just an offer and must be accepted to be converted into enrollment. If you accept an offer, the school has committed a space to your child and you are joining that school's community. You will begin to receive communication from that school, the after-school program, and so on.

Once a family accepts an offer to attend a school, they become eligible to attend an After-School Program, and may likely see their application assigned a wait-list number for the After-School Program. Families can then expect to receive an offer through Enrollwise for their After-School Program. These offers will be timed to coincide with the regular enrollment offers and go out in the first week of April, May, June, and August.

You cannot make a change in the enrollment platform if you have declined an offer to a seat. You will need to contact the Expanded Learning Site Coordinator at your school to make the update/change. A seat will be offered pending availability, you may be referred to the waitlist.

Yes. Students with special needs can apply. Schools will work with families and school teams to plan appropriate support.

At this time, one-to-one aides are not provided as part of Expanded Learning Programs.

No. This system only affects enrollment, not daily attendance routines.

YES. It’s important to note that any student who plans to participate in any portion of the after-school program, including no-cost programs or parallel programs curated by the school day - must be registered for the after-school program through this process.

In alignment with CDE Expanded Learning expectations, any program, club, or activity that operates on a school campus from the ringing of the last bell until 6:00 p.m. functions under the Expanded Learning umbrella. This includes all enrichment clubs, tutoring, mentoring, athletics, and special interests programs.
