Central Family Resource Center (CFRC)

The Central Family Resource Center (CFRC) is a hub of family/child services and provides support to school sites around food assistance, medical/dental, CalFresh and a constellation of services to help families thrive.

La Clinica

La Clínica’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and supplemental food to pregnant/postpartum mothers, infants, and children under five (5) years old.

LifeLong Medical Care provides high-quality health, dental, and social services to underserved people of all ages and operates at school-based health centers that treat children under 5 years old.

BANANAS

BANANAS offers child care referrals, resources, workshops and trainings to families with young children and child care professionals in the Northern Alameda County cities of Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Piedmont, Emeryville, and Alameda. They are also offering virtual Playgroups in the mornings or afternoons. More info and Register.

Lotus Bloom

Lotus Bloom is a family resource center where children aged 0-5 and their parents/caregivers can learn, play, build parent confidence and foster relationships with other adults through small pod playgroups and viewing the Lotus Bloom Online Learning series. Families and caregivers receive information and support to access health, education, food, financial and other community resources.

Oakland Public Library

Offers 0-5 playgroups at participating sites, find your closest library location to you. For further questions about your library card or want to speak to an OPL librarian, email eanswers@oaklandlibrary.org or call 510-238-3134. To sign-up for a library card, please complete an online application.

OPL now provides access to tutor.com, a trusted resources for students to receive free one-on-one tutoring in a variety of subjects. Live on-on-one assistance is available everyday from 12pm (noon) until 12am (midnight). To connect with a tutor go to tutor.com and log in using your OPL card number.

Oakland Promise

Brilliant Baby is the early childhood program of the Oakland Promise, helping eligible families advance their baby’s academic and socio-emotional development during the first critical years of life.

We offer the opportunity to open a Brilliant Baby college savings account seeded with $500 as an early investment for their baby’s bright future. In addition to the college savings account parents and guardians can participate in individual financial coaching, and receive stipends, educational workshops, leadership development, connection to resources, and community building.

Programs for Ages 3-5 years old

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) EPIC Program (3.5-5 years old)

EPIC is an intensive 10-week program for Medi-Cal eligible children ages 3.5-5 who have difficulty self-regulating their emotions and behaviors. Featuring social emotional learning, occupational therapy, and family-centered play therapy, EPIC offers children and their families skill-building services to improve children’s capacity to self-regulate and respond age appropriately and increase families’ knowledge of child development and build a community of support. Summer K/TK Bridge Program (4-5 years old)

In partnership with First Five of Alameda County and Oakland Fund for Children and Youth, OUSD offers a PreK program for children entering kinder/transitional-kindergarten in the Fall, with limited preschool experience.

Oakland Promise, Kindergarten to College (Kinder to 5th Grade)

K2C's goal is for each elementary student in Oakland to think of themselves as a college-bound individual and they do this by:

  1. Helping families be financially prepared for college and beyond
  2. Providing an early college scholarship for every Kindergartner since the 2016-2017 cohort
  3. Supporting in creating a college-going culture at all our elementary schools.
