Montessori education programming comes to OUSD!

Brookfield Elementary and Urban Montessori Charter School are merging in 2025-2026, bringing a Montessori education program to Oakland Unified in grades TK-5. Families applying to Brookfield can choose either traditional or Montessori programs for their child.

On-time application window opens

December 3, 2025

Apply during this window to get the best opportunity to access your preferred school.

On-time application window closes

February 8, 2026

All applications received between December 3, 2025 and February 8, 2026 are considered on time and will receive an offer on March 5, 2026.

February 9, 2026

Missed the on-time window? You can still apply during this "Late Application Window."

On-time offers released

March 5, 2026

All K-12 who applied during the on-time window will receive an offer from a school or and/or be placed on a waitlist for other schools. TK families are not guaranteed an offer, unfortunately, because of the relative scarcity of programs across the district.

Deadline to accept on-time offers

March 25, 2026

Accept an offer by this date! Offers not accepted will be withdrawn and seats will be offered to other families.

Starting March 31, offers are released every two weeks through July.
