buildOn partners with MPA to provide weekly volunteer opportunities for students, collaborate with teachers, and send students on international trips to build schools in developing countries.
Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service. Through community service students develop leadership skills and learn to be change makers in their own community.
We pass out food to the unhoused, we mentor children, we garden and give back to our land, we hang out with the elderly and we participate in community events.
Additionally, students explore challenges and stereotypes of women in technical jobs, systems of oppression for incarcerated folks, and take action all while in the classroom.
Abroad, our students live in host families, discover other cultures, and give their sweat and time to building the foundation of a school, all for free.
