• Welcome to the Madison Park Academy Counseling page! Our school counselors are here to provide guidance and support to empower you to succeed and thrive at Madison Park.
    School counselors focus on three main domains:  Academic, Social-Emotional, and College/Career. Counselors also work in collaboration with the staff of the Health Center, Future Center, and other student services to support student success.
    Counseling Mission Statement: To provide a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters continual growth and resilience by equipping students with academic, social-emotional, and college & career skills; promoting engaged and thoughtful citizens who prosper in a global society.


  • Layne Hamilton is the Middle School Counselor and Middle School COST Coordinator at Madison Park Academy.  She holds her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Cal State East Bay.  She earned her  Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz. Prior to coming to Madison, Ms. Hamilton worked at schools in Alameda, Hayward, and Richmond, providing academic and social emotional counseling to students.  She is passionate about working with Madison students to help them realize their strengths and potential. She is excited to be a part of the Trojan family. 



    Ms. Velázquez is an Oakland Native that for the past 10 years has worked with Oakland youth!


    She supports with student’s academic achievement, socioemotional growth and post graduation plans. Do you need support with classes, checking graduation requirements, conflict with a peer etc? Come visit me!
