    Deputy Chief of Innovation

     

    Yvette is leading the Office of Innovation, which is focused on the District’s Blueprint and Community of Schools work,our Charter Schools Office and Enrollment. Yvette started her career as a teacher in Compton Unified before she moved to the Bay Area. She joined Oakland Unified as the founding principal of Alliance Academy for 3 years. She spent the next 2 years as the principal at Millsmont Elementary School. Most recently, Yvette served as the Senior Director for Year Up Bay Area, where she oversaw outreach, academics, student services, and employment placement. In addition, she launched new programs at a community college and a major corporation to provide technical career opportunities for young adults in underrepresented communities.

     

    Jen Corn

    Coordinator of Innovative Programs

     

    Jen is supporting the principals and design teams at the schools that are part of the Blueprint for Quality Schools.  Jen worked in Oakland schools from 1995 to 2005 at Hawthorne Elementary School as an afterschool program director and school reform coordinator, and as a bilingual teacher at Melrose Elementary. She then spent 13 years at Berkeley Unified as a bilingual teacher, literacy coach, and an elementary school principal for the last seven years. She has worked as a Leadership Coach through Alameda County Office of Education and is currently an instructor in the in Leadership Support Program for new school administrators at UC Berkeley.

     

    School Site Decision Team: The Blueprint work is also supported by the School Site Decision Team. This team is comprised of representatives from the Academic Division; Research Assessment and Data (RAD); Network Superintendents; Special Education; Alternative Education; Enrollment; Facilities; Communications; and English Language Learner and Multicultural Achievement (ELLMA).
