Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Rosemary Rivera
I am so excited to join the Fremont Community! In all my 12 years in education, I have never seen a staff so willing to work above and beyond the call of duty.
I closed out the 2015-16 school year as Principal of Korematsu Discovery Academy (KDA) which has become a stable and well sought-after school that I know will continue to prosper. Going forward, my focus, alongside Mr. Skjervheim, is to make Fremont THE most sought-after high school in OUSD.
On a personal note, I am Salvadoran by birth, with strong cultural, linguistic, and family ties to El Salvador, where I still visit. I also take great interest in student literacy and graduation rates which is one of the main reasons that I wanted to come to Fremont; to be of service in these areas and help prepare our students for college and beyond.
Fremont is a school of accomplishments, challenges, growth and aspirations. With the support of our students and families, I am confident that we can address Fremont's shortcomings, maintain the areas that are positive and productive, and work together to raise the bar for academic achievement. By nurturing a culture of compassion for students and staff, planning for the future with a clear and precise vision, and creating an environment where we celebrate success, we will ensure that Fremont is the best it can be for our students.
