Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Nidya Baez

I am a strong supporter of Oakland Public Schools and I am honored to be the Principal at my alma mater.

After graduating from Fremont High, I pursued a Bachelor's Degree at the University of California, Berkeley.  I returned to teach in my community and earned my World Language teaching credential and later my Administrative Services credential from California State University, East Bay.  I served as Assistant Principal at Fremont for 6 years under Co-Principal Rivera and Co-Principal Tom Skjervheim.

At 16 years old, I knew I wanted a career that would allow me to work alongside my community by helping to increase youth voice and leadership.  Fremont High School is a very different school than when I was here in the early 2000s and we are working collaboratively to maintain a rigorous and fun experience for all young people.  We have an amazing, energetic, and caring staff that will go above and beyond for all of our students.  FREEEEEEEMOOOOONT!
