Ms. Linda Flynn
Linda Flynn’s goal is to create, “a school that develops every child’s confidence to succeed by igniting their passion to learn by building on to the talents and diversity of our students, parents/caregivers, and staff.”
Linda Flynn is beginning her 25th year as an educator. Before coming to Bella Vista Elementary School in 2014, she was a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, science specialist, reading and writing intervention teacher, and summer school principal. Her career began in the classroom in Springfield, Massachusetts. When she relocated to California, she initially taught for Mount Diablo Unified School District in Bay Point, California before moving to Oakland Unified School District.
Linda Flynn obtained her Masters degree in Educational Administration from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on equity to improve education for vulnerable and historically underserved students in California’s public schools in support of social justice. She did her undergraduate work in her home state of Massachusetts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
A native of Massachusetts, Linda now lives in the east bay with her husband and their three children, and dog. In her free time Linda enjoys playing with her children, hiking the local trails with her dog Kali, gardening and hanging out with friends.
