This year, (as pictured from left to right)
Dr. Kristine Karaca,
Dr. Meilin Mehri,
Dr. Genevieve Moscovitz, team lead,
Dr. Leah Eisbart, and trainee
Brian Kuennemeier, MA provided intensive mental health services to over 50 students at Franklin.
It's been a great year at Franklin Elementary School! We welcomed a new principal,
Dr. Ingrid Seyer-Ochi,
and the support of the Ann Martin Center school-based mental health
team has been very strong. Principal Ingrid's leadership brings fresh
enthusiasm and vision to Franklin. She has said many times that she
values the vital role of Ann Martin Center clinicians at the school, and
is grateful for all the powerful collaborations.
One of
the many poignant successes this year has been with teacher
collaborations. Teachers are very receptive to working together and
grateful for our help, but the change doesn't only happen in the therapy
room. Dr. Karaca reflects on how she has been able to work with
teachers to enhance their psychological understanding of their students,
and how this can improve the overall experience in the classroom. 3rd
grade teacher, Ms. Willow, shared,
"The Ann Martin team
has made our students lives so much better. The children feel supported
and so much happier, with a new found sense of self. I see the
difference in the classroom. I don't think I could have done my job this
well without Ann Martin here."
The Ann Martin Center
school-based clinical team at Franklin is proud to be an integral part
of Principal Ingrid's vision for positive and trauma informed approaches
to education and behavior. We look forward to another great year, Go
Tigers!
