I joined the O High team as your full-time Linked Learning Pathway Coach in the 2015-2016 school year.
I come to this work with an extensive background in and passion for Linked Learning. Previously I was an English teacher for a Health Academy at Pinole Valley High School (WCCUD) for 5 years and the lead/director for that academy for 4 of those years. I was also an internal coach for the other 4 academies at PVHS last year. I am a certified ConnectEd Pathway Coach, and I hold a certificate in Linked Learning from San Diego State University.
Within my work as a pathway lead, my areas of expertise were around integrated curriculum/projects, and performance tasks, including creating new and unique ways to connect work-based learning experiences back to the classroom. While a teacher, it was the coaching and pathway lead aspects of my role that excited me the most but that I was unable to give my full attention to due to the day-to-day demands of teaching. In this role with OUSD, I am thrilled to be able to focus my work on my passion, and to be able to impact the community in which I live.
