Who are you? What are your core values?

My core values are kindness, patience and a calm spirit. I believe in being kind to each and every person I meet, as I simply have no idea what their life may be like, or what they may be going through at the exact moment I come into their space. I believe patience yields amazing results, and calm energy breeds calm energy.Who are you? What are your core values? My core values are kindness, patience and a calm spirit. How did your family, educational experiences, etc. impact your life?

My family has been incredibly supportive of my educational journey, although I am the only educator, let alone special educator, working in my family. Neither of my parents attended a University (both did either community college or trade apprenticeships), so they were thrilled about my career choice, and continue to support me to this day.

Why do you do this work?

I do this work to ensure my students can be a part of the world around them, and that they have an equitable school experience.

What are 1-2 things you want all students to know (ie. I believe in myself, I can be anything I want to be)?

I want all students to know all emotions and feelings are valid, but I also want them to have tools to express those emotions in safe and healthy ways. I also want all students to know that they are strong, beautiful and courageous.

What is your greatest hope for culture development this school year?

My greatest hope for cultural development for this school year is that we continue to work together and learn from each other. I also hope for continued collaboration and meeting of the minds between the SDCs so we all know what great work others are doing!
