    McClymonds High School
    is a premiere, transformative learning environment, building on the legacy of community activism in West Oakland, and empowering students to personalize their education pathways to become college, career, and community-ready graduates.

    Self-Discovery

    9th Grade:   -  College and Career Awareness

    Students develop  and monitor 10 year pathway plan,  student become aware of a range of career options in multiple industries, (i.e. STEAM Lab course, study tours, job shadows, career speakers/mentors, after school programs) and postsecondary options, complete grade-level A-G requirements

     

    Responsibility

    10th Grade:  -   College and Career Exploration

    Students update pathway plan, explore a range of career options within an industry pathway, participate in college visits, Complete STEAM Lab @, complete A-G requirements, including Early College courses

     

    Accountability

    11th Grade:     -    College and Career Preparation

    Students update pathway plan, participate college tours, college fairs, career preparation within a pathway, including internships and complete A-G requirements, including  Early College courses

     

    Commitment

    12th Grade:    -      College and Career Transition

    Students update pathway plan, participate in college and career transition activities, i.e. college tours, college fairs, college applications, FAFSA, complete A-G requirements, including college-level courses and participate in career exploration and preparation within a pathway, including internships.

    Earn High School Diploma, Early College Credits, College Acceptance, STEAM Pathway Certification

    At McClymonds High School,
    students create and implement STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Personalized Pathways in a supportive climate that embrace individuality while fostering respect for others.  By taking ownership of their education, students embark on a journey of self-discovery, become more responsible and accountable so that they graduate college, career, and community ready.

    Theory of Action

    If we, in partnership with our community, provide access and opportunity for all students to engage in educational experiences that are rigorous and relevant so that they understand the connections to their lives in the present and the future, and provide caring and supportive relationships to develop, implement, and assess their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) 10-Year Personalized Pathway Plan and celebrate their progress; students will engage more deeply to acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviors needed to make positive contributions to their local and global community and succeed in college and careers of their choice.
