Tutoring Program
A source of pride for the Cleveland community is our insistence that all students must rise on the same tide. This is especially important in a school where many students and families are English learners.
Cleveland Elementary PTA funds tutoring support from Experience Corps. These dedicated volunteers are retired adults age 55 and older looking to contribute to their communities. Our tutors provide students the individualized time that they need to more fully engage with the learning process, build self-confidence, and eventually reach grade-level benchmarks.
We have 12 Experience Corps members at Cleveland contributing more than 1,800 hours each year– the equivalent of having two full time employees for almost 23 weeks! These members serve approximately 80 students.
