Dear Frick Impact Academy Gladiators,
Welcome to Frick Impact Academy! Our community is looking forward to an awesome school year. I AM SO EXCITED. Not only have we upgraded our facilities, but we have added some additional electives and programs we know will accelerate student learning and peek their interest. Computer science, a creative design lab, dance, sports, theatre and art are just a few additions to our program.
Everyday our goal is to provide all students with a rigorous and meaningful education. Students, your academic success depends on your choices and effort. The skills and knowledge you acquire at Frick lmpact Academy will prepare you for high school and ultimately, college. Here at Frick we dress like scholars. Everyday students you must be in your uniform: your green FIA polo and black pants.
At FIA, we value Hard Work. We know you can accomplish anything you desire if you have a growth mindset. You will set goals for yourself and monitor them throughout the next year – ensuring that you own your hard work and that you are reflective on your journey to become your best self. Parents, you have a staff here at FIA who believe in your children and are here to guide their success.
We ask that the entire FIA community join us in our effort to provide all students with a quality education. Frick scholars will be: Safe, Responsible, and Respectful. Nothing Beats Hard Work! Students and Families, I proudly welcome you to the best middle school in Oakland, FRICK IMPACT ACADEMY. Let’s have a fun and amazing school year!

Degrees and Certifications:
I am a bonfided Oaklander, I was born and raised in Oakland, California, I attended Parker Elementary, Frick Junior High School, and Castlemont High School, the Mighty Knights. I remember watching KTVU Channel 2 and Dennis Richmond reported Oakland Unified School District students scored in the lowest percentile on the state standardized test. I thought to myself, “I graduated from Oakland Public Schools maybe I can help.” I telephoned my former history teacher Jerry Wolfe, which was at the time Frick Middle School’s principal, he hired me, and the rest is 22 years of educational history in Oakland Unified School District.
My entire 22 years of teaching has been exclusively at Frick Middle School currently known as Frick Impact Academy. I received my undergraduate degrees at San Francisco State University in Broadcast Electronic Communications Arts and Black Studies, I earned a Teaching Credential at California State East Bay, Masters in Instructional Leadership from National University. I am currently enrolled in Reach Leadership Program for Administrative Credential, and Northcentral University earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
I believe it takes a village to raise a child, my desire as Assistant Principal is to create a collaborative school environment where parents, guardians, family members, community, and educators’ bond collectively to enrich each child’s academic and social growth.
During my free time, I enjoy singing in a Legends of Motown Old School Tribute Show, reading, traveling, riding my Harley Davidson Road Glide, spending time with family and friends.
