Oakland High School Football Stars Headed to Top Programs
On February 3rd, the battle for the country’s top scholastic football players concluded with
the National Letter of Intent Signing Day. That’s when America’s most sought after senior players formally declare where they’re headed for college ball. This year was a milestone
for Wildcat Athletics - its been 15 years since we had a student-athlete sign on to play football with a four-year institution.

Signing Day is a major milestone for the students involved, period, making both their
college and football dreams come true.

Damante Horton looks to be headed to the Washington State Cougars where he'll play
Corner Back, and Kelly Mitchell will be a Defensive End for the Humboldt State Lumberjacks in the fall. Meanwhile, Dave Douglas is going down to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a Safety, and Hampton University's football team will welcome Edward David as an all-'round
athlete, as he is capable of playing several positions.

The Oakland High community is proud to see some of its top student-athletes confirm
their commitments to competitive colleges and universities.
