At Manzanita Community we believe that the social and emotional development of our students is at the core of strong academic performance. When children feel part of their school they develop trust and caring relationships that foster community building and a positive school climate. A positive school climate provides a learning environment that allows focused and rigorous academic program.

All of our teachers receive ongoing training in Responsive Classroom strategies. These strategies include
bi-monthly school-wide assemblies and school-wide morning meetings with students to help them develop skills and strategies for problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication. It also provides a daily, consistent transition from home to school for the entire student body.
