COVID Testing in OUSD

Who is eligible? All staff (including employees, contractors, volunteers), students, and OUSD family members are eligible
- NEW UPDATE FOR STAFF: Effective Tuesday, September 7, 2021, all OUSD staff, contractors, and volunteers (including remote workers) will be required to be fully vaccinated, or alternatively, get at a COVID test at least once a week.
Where and when? Testing access is available every weekday through:
- Regional testing sites
- At-home testing kits (at every school site, depending on availability from CDPH)
- Rapid response teams who will be deployed to sites to support testing as needed to prevent outbreaks

When to get tested:
Testing is recommended for students, if they:
- Have COVID symptoms, regardless of vaccination status (requires a PCR test to return early from quarantine)
- Have had prolonged close contact with a COVID-positive person, if unvaccinated (requires any supervised test to return early from quarantine)
Testing is required for staff, if they:
- Are unvaccinated (at least 1 time per week)
Testing is reccomended for staff, if they:
- Have COVID symptoms, regardless of vaccination status (requires a PCR test to return early from quarantine)
- Have had prolonged close contact with a COVID-positive person, if unvaccinated
