Water Quality Testing Dashboard

OUSD is committed to ensuring that all students and staff have access to safe, high-quality drinking water across every campus in the District. In alignment with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 3Ts for Reducing Lead in Drinking Water in Schools and Child Care Facilities (Training, Testing, and Taking Action), OUSD conducted comprehensive districtwide water quality testing during Summer 2025. All required protocols were followed in accordance with EPA guidance.

To provide an added layer of protection, OUSD has implemented a stricter internal standard of 5 parts per billion (ppb) or below for lead in drinking water. For comparison:

  • OUSD Standard: 5 ppb or below
  • California Action Level: 15 ppb
  • Federal EPA Action Level: 15 ppb

By setting a lower threshold than both state and federal action levels, OUSD is going above and beyond regulatory requirements to safeguard student and staff health.

The Summer 2025 testing included all drinking water sources and all outlets used for food preparation in school kitchens throughout the District.

The dashboard presents the results of this comprehensive Summer 2025 testing, documents all repairs made, and shows the current status of every fixture that was tested.

To make the information accessible and easy to navigate, the dashboard provides three user-friendly views:

  1. District Map View: A visual overview of all campuses and their testing status across the District.
  2. List View: A sortable, searchable list of schools and tested fixtures.
  3. Detailed Fixture View: Individual fixture-level information, including testing data and current status.

OUSD remains committed to ongoing monitoring, transparency, and maintaining high standards for water quality across all school sites. For additional information about our testing protocols and standards, please refer to the link provided.
