Water Quality in OUSD

White tree emblem with %22EVERY STUDENT THRIVES!%22 text on a green background.

Our priority is to provide a safe, healthy environment for students and staff.

Did you know that many of OUSD’s schools were built before 1949 and are at least 75 years old? In fact, the majority of the District’s facilities were built prior to passage of the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974, which prohibits the use of lead pipes, solder, and flux in drinking water systems.

OUSD has instituted long-term solutions including the installation of dozens of new FloWater machines to ensure that students and staff have access to safe and reliable drinking water that meets District-mandated water quality standards.
