Health Resources

If you are feeling sick

If students or family members are having a medical emergency (like extreme difficulty breathing), they should call 911 or go to the Emergency Room. Otherwise, please see information below about how families can access needed healthcare.

If students or families have urgent healthcare needs, families should call their medical provider, even if they have not seen their medical provider for a long time, to get advice or schedule an appointment. Right now, testing for the coronavirus is still limited. Your medical provider can advise about whether this is recommended or needed.

If families do not already have a medical provider, La Clínica de La Raza can register new patients over the phone and then conduct a phone consultation to assess if the patient should come in for a visit or stay home. We are reaching out to other community clinics to see if they will be accepting new patients at this time.

For adults and pre-school aged children (ages 0-3) who do not already have a doctor or medical provider please call:

  • La Clínica de La Raza - Transit Village at Fruitvale BART Station: 510-535-3650 OR San Antonio Neighborhood Health Center at 1030 International: 510-238-5462.
  • LifeLong Medical Care - Central Call Center at 510-981-4100.

For OUSD students and school-aged children/youth (ages 4-21) who do not have a doctor or medical provider, please call:

  • La Clinica de La Raza’s School-Based Health Centers Phone Consult Line at 510-481-4566.

Note about Public Charge: If families are concerned that the Public Charge Rule may affect their immigration case if they access medical care, please mention this when you call to register. Public Charge Rule does not apply to individuals under 21 (age 20 and below).
