Here in OUSD, we know that our students thrive when our staff members feel prepared, supported, and valued. One of our district's primary goals is to build a diverse and stable workforce that reflects our community and is ready for long-term success. A key part of this initiative is ensuring our newest staff members have the tools and skills to succeed from the moment they join OUSD.

The Special Education Department's New Support Staff Orientation Week is a perfect example of this commitment in action.

Developed in response to staff feedback, this week-long orientation is designed to provide essential training and establish an ongoing support network for our newest paraeducators and instructional aides. The program equips our staff with critical skills in areas such as crisis intervention and classroom support for students with disabilities. This commitment to our staff's growth and well-being is fundamental to creating the supportive and effective learning environments our students deserve.
