We're excited to share that our central office building has a new name that honors a pivotal figure in our district's history. What was formerly known as the Central Administrative Center at Cole, and previously Cole Middle School, is now the Dr. Marcus A. Foster Leadership Center, honoring Oakland's first Black superintendent and a nationally recognized pioneer in urban education.

This renaming was a key project brought to completion under the leadership of former Superintendent Dr. Kyla Johnson-Trammell, honoring our district's past as we look toward the future. With the 2025-26 school year beginning on Monday, August 11, we are excited to share this updated guide to help you connect with our central office staff.

Parking: 30 visitor spaces available, plus street parking

Before You Visit

Please email or call ahead to confirm the department you're visiting is available, as not all staff are on-site daily.

Check-In Process

  1. Enter through the Guest Entrance on Union Street
  2. Sign in at the front desk using our iPad system
  3. Receive a visitor badge
  4. Remember to sign out when leaving
