This week, we join thousands of districts across the country in honoring our Community School Managers during School Coordinators Appreciation Week, September 14-18, 2026.

OUSD is fortunate to have 76 Community School Managers (CSMs) working across the district in support of our students and their families.

“From making home visits and distributing essential resources to leading Coordination of Services Teams (COST) and health initiatives, our CSMs truly do it all,” said Superintendent Dr. Denise Saddler. “Thank you to all of our Community School Managers for building meaningful relationships with our students and families. The care and dedication you bring to our schools is incredible.”

In 2023, OUSD was able to expand the CSM leadership team to build capacity and deepen support for our CSMs in alignment with our community schools model. This expansion added dedicated leads who could provide more consistent, hands-on coaching to CSMs across school sites, ensuring that best practices were shared and implemented throughout the district. With this stronger leadership structure in place, CSMs have clearer channels for mentorship, professional development, and problem-solving, which has strengthened the overall implementation of the community schools strategy district-wide.

“Our Community School Managers are the driving force behind our district’s community school mission,” said Salomeh Ghorban, Community School Leadership Coordinator. “They expertly weave together resources and deftly collaborate with everyone in our school communities to remove barriers to learning, and create a more equitable and inclusive educational experience for all students.”

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our Community School Managers!
