Leaders in Oakland Unified center the strategic plan pillars, including maintaining a focus on Ensuring Strong Readers by Third Grade, Supporting Empowered Graduates, Creating Joyful Schools, and Growing a Diverse and Stable Staff. Oakland Leaders are supported by a network of their peers, regular professional development that focuses on instruction and operations, and develop in alignment with the six dimensions of Oakland’s own Leadership Growth and Development framework: 1) Leadership for Equity; 2) Leadership for Visionary Change; 3) Leadership for Healthy Relationships and Culture; 4) Leadership for Community and Family Partnerships; 5) Leadership for Effective Operations and Organization and 6) Leadership for Instruction and Learning.
