OUSD Employee Benefits
The Benefits Team understands the importance of balancing your professional and personal life. We enroll OUSD employees, retirees, and their eligible dependents in the OUSD Health Benefits program.
OUSD's health benefit program includes the programs below. If you are a new hire or have recently had a qualifying life event, view the links below or our Benefits Orientation Deck:

Benefits Enrollment or Changes
Follow the guidance below to enroll in or make changes to your benefits.
If you are a new employee,
- You are new to the district, or returning after a break in coverage.
- Enroll within 30 days of your position start date.
- Complete forms on Frontline Central.

If you are a current employee making changes due to a qualifying event
- You are experiencing a personal or professional life event that is resulting in a benefits change outside of your enrollment window; this could include marriage, new birth/adoption, gaining or losing other Health coverage, a change in position, increase/decrease in work hours, etc.
- Enroll within 30 days of the date of the qualifying event.
- Complete forms on Frontline Central.

If you are making changes during Open Enrollment (March 25th - April 30th).
- You may make changes to your benefits once a year outside of your enrollment window and without a qualifying event.
- All Open Enrollment changes will be effective on July 1st.
- Flexible spending accounts must be renewed every year (FSAs do not automatically continue from year-to-year).
- Employee and dependent health benefits continue from year-to-year.
- Complete forms on Frontline Central from March 25th through April 30th.
Retirees & Cobra Participants
Retiree and/or Cobra participants:
- Effective March 1, 2022, OUSD's new Third Party Benefits Administrator for Retiree and COBRA Participants is The P&A Group.

You are protected against "surprise" Balance billings
Not all medical treatment is covered sometimes but if you have an emergency you are protected. Find important information about your rights and protections under Federal law against "surprise" medical billings for treatment not covered under your medical benefits.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to help you now.
As an OUSD employee, you can get a few free therapy sessions through the Employee Assistance Program, offered through Ability Assist - The Hartford Group.
