Part of our understanding of solidarity is being informed and prepared to take a stand. Each of Oakland's diverse immigrant and refugee groups faces a different struggle, but can find sanctuary in our schools when we provide supports and foster understanding of the what and why for each group. We can then start to answer the big question: how can I help?
In order to strengthen the OUSD Sanctuary network in solidarity with community members impacted by deportation and adverse immigration policy, the Sanctuary Task Force is focused on education and promoting action steps. With that in mind, we're excited to share our this series of guides:
