    • Monkeypox is a virus that appears as a distinctive rash, and spreads through close contact: skin to skin, sex, kissing, sharing linens.

    • Every case of Monkeypox is contact-traced by the Alameda County Public Health Department.

      • No quarantine for contacts of a monkeypox case

      • Monitor for symptoms 3 weeks after last exposure; stay home and contact healthcare provider if symptoms develop
