• Visits From College Representatives

What is a Visit From a College Rep?

College rep visits are a great way to get to know a school you are interested in. Admissions counselors from colleges and universities around the country come to Oakland Tech to inform students about their specific school. These reps can give you the inside scoop on what they are looking for when reading applications and can answer pressing questions you may have about the school. Other benefits of coming to the college rep visits is getting exposure early to narrow down your college list by senior year. Grades 9-12 are encouraged to come.

How Do I Know When College Representatives Will Be at Oakland Tech?

College rep visits are listed on the calendar below. Check back frequently as visits are sometimes scheduled with short notice.

How to Get Excused From Class to Attend?

Plan ahead and tell your teacher BEFORE the day of the college rep visit. On the day of the rep visit, you must check in with your teacher to get marked present. Once marked present, have your teacher write a pass to the college and career center. If you attend a rep visit with an invalid pass or without a pass, you will be responsible for clearing your absence, tardy and/or making up work that has been missed.
