  • The ARTS INCENTIVE GRANT (AIG) 2025 funding program supports the creative and cultural lives of Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) students, staff, and families.

Administered through OUSD’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department, AIG 2025 aligns with the district’s Strategic Plan 2021-24 Initiative 3: Creating Inspiring Schools
that asserts that “a school thrives when students, families, staff, and community work together to intentionally design (1) learning experiences that bring joy to students, (2) learning environments that are unconditionally inclusive to all, and (3) learning spaces that foster creativity and inspiration.”

AIG 2025 funds serve as a catalyst for Creating Inspiring Schools by fostering long-term partnerships between OUSD Public School sites and local arts community-based organizations (CBO)s to enhance arts learning opportunities at school sites, especially for those students who have historically been most marginalized: Black students, English learners and unhoused youth. These grant funds are made possible through the Oakland tax-funded Measure G.
