Ms. Corkery is a Bay Area native and has been working with young people for nearly 10 years through a combination of coaching (soccer, mostly), outdoor education, project-based teaching in summer programs, and teaching English Language Arts to middle schoolers. She graduated from Oregon State University, studying literature and political science, two subjects that allowed her to explore her love of storytelling AND educational public policy. She then pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher through U.C. Berkeley's Masters in Education program that focuses on equity and excellence in education. After graduating from Cal, she started her career as a full-time English teacher at CCPA. She loves working with students to help them grow their love of reading, storytelling, and becoming changemakers in their communities!
