Sequoia Students, Staff and Community,

It is a pleasure to present Dr. LéJon Payne as the principal at Sequoia Elementary School. I would like to thank the community and staff for participating in the process to identify the characteristics you wanted in the new Sequoia Principal. We truly appreciate the time you dedicated to identifying your principal characteristics, interviewing, and the willingness to have your voices heard.  While reviewing the qualities generated by Sequoia staff and community, and your selection during the interview process, Dr. Payne was thrilled to be selected by the staff and community of Sequoia. She is excited about beginning this important work as a team.

 I have complete confidence in Dr. Payne’s leadership, ability to collaborate with a diverse community, and genuine dedication to continue to make Sequoia Elementary School a quality option for elementary school.  Dr. Payne is a proud native of Oakland who has traveled the world gaining knowledge and experience working with different cultures and curriculums. Most recently, Dr. Payne served as the STEM Assistant Principal for KIPP Bridge Academy in West Oakland. Prior to that, she worked at schools in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Atlanta, Georgia.
 
We would like to host a Meet and Greet via Zoom (date and time TBD) for the staff and community to get to know Dr. Payne.  Please join us in welcoming your new principal and taking a step toward a new chapter of success for Sequoia Elementary School.
