•  As we work to bring back libraries in OUSD and to create equity:

We love donations! We currently operate with a budget of 1.7 million dollars for 86 school libraries. We need 11.7 to provide equity and libraries for all. Your monthly, yearly or other donation goes directly to books (we receive 40% off) and resources for our students. It's important that we have flexibility, immediate access, and are empowered to respond to the needs of our students. Please see our Support Libraries!  or District Library News pages for ways you can support, or contact the District Library Manager.

Thank you! to East Bay Booksellers whose customers purchase our students wish list for all site libraries, creating a win -win: supporting independent bookstores and the requests of students in our schools for books! All of our elementary schools received copies of Meet Yasmin by Saadia Faruqi, as well as many other exciting new books.

Thank you! to the students of Aptos Middle School who raised $400 for OUSD School Libraries! Aptos students, whose school library has been in continual existence for over 63 years, created and sold their zines to support OUSD libraries. The $400 will be used by the LAB - Library Advisory Board - at Bret Harte for reading lounge furniture. (See photo on photo stream to the right).

Thank you! to Brotherhood of Elders Network who work directly with Teacher-Librarians to support their book budget to increase diversity on our shelves.

We have several long time community partners who have helped our libraries to become what they are today and continue to contribute in significant ways. Thank you to:
