Mildred Powell has been with the district since 2011, both as a parent volunteer and as a Paraeducator. One of Ms. Powell’s children graduated from an Oakland Public School in 2012 and Ms. Powell’s youngest daughter has been at CCPA since 8th grade, and will graduate in May 2019. Ms. Powell graduated from Yuba College Clearlake Campus with her A.S. in Administrative Assistant degree. With support and inspiration from her mentor, she decided to accept her calling to become a Special Ed teacher, and is currently attending Berkeley City College so that she can  transfer with her ADT in Education to CSU East Bay to gain her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts along with her teaching credential. Ms. Powell has been with CCPA since 2016, and since then she has gained experience working one-on-one with students, has her own advisory and leadership class, and works in various classrooms supporting teachers, students, and staff. Working with CCPA students has inspired her, and she hopes to bridge the gap for students and be a positive role model for them and our community.
