• Training and Compliance

    Oakland Unified School District requires completion of specific trainings, as well as provides you with a wealth of guides and resources to enhance your career and remain compliant for the work that you perform at OUSD.  The list of training topics below is not all-inclusive. Please contact your immediate supervisor for any questions about trainings required for your role.     Trainings for All Employees Including Substitutes

    • Mandated Reporter: required for all employees and substitutes; all other individuals, including volunteers, are not required but encouraged to complete training on mandated reporting duties in California.
      SY 2018-2019 deadline: September 24, 2018, or within six weeks of hire, whichever is later

    Trainings for Specific Roles

    • Active Shooter Training: required for all cabinet-level leaders, school and office site leaders, and front office staff; all other employees are not required but encouraged to complete.
      SY 2018-2019 deadline: December 28, 2018, or within six weeks of hire, whichever is later. Training must be completed every year.

    • Sexual Harassment Training: currently required for all staff that hold supervisory roles or duties, within any location in the District; all other employees are not required but encouraged to complete.
      Deadline: within six months of hire or assuming the supervisory role, whichever is later. Training must be completed every two years.
