    Summary:

State funding for districts like Oakland has improved significantly since the Great Recession, particularly with the passage of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). But even with the increased funding from the LCFF, tied directly to the health of the State economy, Oakland and most districts across California are facing increasing cost pressures that, if unmitigated, could force difficult cuts in programs and services to students.

In response to the increased costs for providing quality and rigorous core educational programs for all students, Assembly Member Muratsuchi introduced AB 2808, which would increase the funding for the LCFF. His bill would help to ensure that Oakland receives the State funding it needs to educate all students while providing additional services and resources to students who need them.
